Rondo 1 'B' building

Warsaw's newest skyscraper, the "Rondo 1" designed by Skidmor Owings & Meril is almost done. It was supposed to be finished on the 31st of December 2005 but the construction got a little delayed and evenually the tower is going to be ready at the end od january. Rising to the height of 168m (with the antenna to 184m) it caught the title of Poland's third tower when it comes to height. The super moderni design by SOM contains many nice additions like the delicate line or the modern blue curtain wall elevation. On a sunny day one can observe quite interesting reflexions of the sun and the sky in the elevation, especially in the summertime.

The tower is a part of the modern commercial and office district that started to exist in the very heart of the city a few years ago. Every year a new skyscraper 20-50 stories high rises in this area making it one of the highest and most modern such places in Europe.

This art was first made as a fast hand-made sketch. I used Staedtler pen and a A3 size paper. The sketch was made in nature under the building in september. Some time later I decided to add some color to it in Photoshop using my new tablet, and here you've got the effect.
